The above assumes: well illuminated target, black on white, clear air (no pollution, haze or mirage), and no scope motion. Therefore these resolution values are the lowest to be reasonably expected and will usually increase (reduce resolution) for more typical conditions.

Match magnification means the Dawes Limit equals the magnified normal visual acuity of the human eye. At less magnification the resolution is limited by the user's eye. Above this magnification the resolution is diffraction limited by the objective diameter to value calculated above.
