Congratulations to Omar Alonzo and Mike Omiyale for winning the 4^th Annual Greystone Pro/Am ELR match this past weekend (March 21-22) at the Greystone Castle Sporting club in Mingus, TX. Omar (pro) and Mike (amateur) shot the 2-day competition using rifles prepared by Omar topped by the March-FX 5-42X56Genll riflescope, PRS edition with the FML-WBR reticle and writable turrets.

The two-day match consisted of 6 targets (3 each day) set at increasing distances starting at 800 yards all the way to 2092 yard.  Each target required 5 shots. Each group of 3 targets, 15 shots, were engaged in a time of 8 minutes.  While the first day saw some mild conditions for the shorter distances, the second day started off in howling winds and they only grew worse for the longer distances, of course.

Omar Alonzo won first place in Pro and Mike Omiyale took second place amateur, at his first ever, ELR match, and as a team (pro/am) they won the match outright. They both took advantage of the writable turrets to highlight the elevation for the 3 targets at the beginning of each day. No counting, just dial to the proper mark and you’re good to go.  The clarity of the glass and its inherent resistance to mirage distortion was a great benefit on the first day and the wide FOV (26° AAOV) was a plus being able to go up to 35X or more and still have an expansive field of view to observe trace.
