March Scopes tie up the top spots at the latest Bayou Rifles 1000 yard Club match (US)!
Posted 11/05/2024
Timothy Vaught (2022 F-Open Long Range National Champion) and Johnny Ingram (the current 2024 F-Open Mid Range National Champion) tie for the top spots at the latest Bayou Rifles 1000 yard Club match using their March Scopes on October 20th.
Tim normally uses his 8-80×56 Majesta with the MTR-WFD reticle, but for this match, this specific rifle is configured with a 1.450 custom tapered barrel, that requires the use of a March X 10-60×56 High Master to make the 10kg Fopen weight limit.
When asked why March and what feature did you most appreciate today he stated “The 2 original 10-60 High Master scopes i own have served me well for years prior to the Majesta release, and have passed years of my own personal annual scope checker poi and tall target testing. As far as features…I’d say the HM glass today definitely came in handy as the day wore on in the later matches, and with the wind angle changes present in today’s match, having absolute confidence in the internal mechanics of the scope allowed me to manage and optimize the vertical shot placement on target, which is key in highly competitive fields like Bayou produces month after month. Often these monthly 90 shot matches are won my just a singular point or on Xs alone.”

When Johnny was asked why he chose 8-80×56 Majesta he states:
“Superb image quality and the ability to run full on 80x throughout the match. 80x is huge benefit for precision aiming.”
When Johnny was asked what feature did he most appreciate or use in todays match he states:
“With the MTR-WFD, I have developed a plan as my min and max wind holds. When in doubt average it out. “
Johnny has proven to be a very consistent top level Competitor at the highly competitive Bayou Rifles. His work ethic, experience and knowledge of precision shooting have had him accumulate multiple NRA records and wins over the years, and March is proud to see Competitors like Johnny trusting March as their precision long range optics choice.
