Update on March-FX 5-42×56 Gen II Riflescopes: Our Commitment to Quality, Transparency, and Customer Support

Posted 05/20/2026

At DEON Optical Design Corp, the makers of March Scopes, we are committed to building the highest-performance riflescopes for serious long-range and PRS competitors. The March-FX 5-42×56 Gen II PRS edition was developed specifically for this community. It features the widest apparent angle of view in our lineup at 26° (30% wider than our standard models), writable elevation, windage, and side-focus turrets for rapid and repeatable adjustments, and the innovative FML-WBR reticle designed in collaboration with a PRS shooter. This reticle works seamlessly with the turrets, providing speed and clarity without obstructing your view of impacts and targets. Combined with our High Master lens system assembling Super ED lenses, Temperature Anti-Drift technology, and robust 34 mm machined aluminum construction, it delivers exceptional optical clarity, mechanical precision, and reliability where it matters most.

We want to directly address ongoing online discussions regarding point-of-impact shift on a very small number of these scopes. In early 2026, we received reports from two shooters of point-of-impact (POI) shift with the March-FX 5-42×56 Gen II. Through detailed investigation, we traced the issue to a specific subpar screw from one vendor that did not meet our strict quality standards. This matter was isolated exclusively to the 5-42×56 Gen II model.

We responded immediately by setting up a dedicated return-and-repair program. To date, only a small number of the scopes in question were returned for evaluation. Where necessary, components were replaced with the upgraded version, including precautionary replacements for units found to be close to our internal tolerance thresholds. All scopes were then thoroughly re-tested and returned to their owners at no charge to ensure the highest level of reliability and customer confidence. We have since changed this critical part and further strengthened our inspection and quality-control processes. These improvements are now standard in all current production units (from serial A480 onward).

We sincerely apologize to any owners who experienced this issue. Even a single affected shooter is one too many, and we regret the inconvenience it caused. At the same time, we are proud of how quickly the root cause was identified and fully resolved, and we appreciate the feedback that allowed us to strengthen our processes.

The vast majority of March-FX 5-42×56 Gen II owners continue to enjoy flawless performance in competition and field use, and we remain confident that this is an outstanding riflescope built to the exacting standards that March is known for worldwide.
