Congratulations to Brandon Zwahr (USA) on becoming the 2026 F-Open World Champion! Brandon competed in the Individual World Championship using the March-X 8-80×56 Majesta Gen II riflescope. We asked Brandon to share his thoughts on winning the World Championship, why he chose the Majesta Gen II scope, and how he uses the scope to read mirage and changing wind conditions during competition. Here are Brandon’s answers.

Q1. Congratulations on becoming the 2026 F-Open World Champion! How does it feel to win the World Championship?

It feels gratifying knowing all the long hours at the range, in the reloading room, and on the lathe have paid off.

Q2. What made you choose the March Majesta 8-80×56 Gen II riflescope for this competition?

I chose to shoot the March Gen II during the individual matches because of the clarity of the glass, the wide field of view, and its flawless tracking capability.

Q3. You had previously used the Gen I version. Compared with Gen I, what improvements did you notice with Gen II?

The Gen I is a great scope and is the reason I now use March scopes. With the Gen II, I see the same great scope with better clarity and some cosmetic changes, such as the lighter-colored turrets, which make it easier when adjusting windage and elevation.

Q4. How do you typically use the Majesta during a match? I understand that you do not normally use a separate spotting scope. How do you use the Majesta for both shooting and spotting?

I use the March scope as my spotting scope. I typically run it at a lower power so I can see mirage at different yardages. Then I’ll focus on the mirage that seems to make the most sense based on the feedback I’m getting from the target.

Q5. Were there any particular conditions or moments during the World Championships when you felt the Gen II scope was especially beneficial?

When I wasn’t shooting, I would focus on the conditions and collect data. Part of collecting data is seeing trends on targets. With the wide field of view of the Majesta, plus running it at a lower power, I was able to see competitors’ targets on both sides of me. This was crucial in helping me understand the pickups and let-offs in the wind.

Q6. What do you consider to be the biggest advantage of the Majesta 8-80×56 riflescope for F-Open competition?

For my style of shooting, which is reading mirage through the scope, the clarity of the Majesta glass has been a huge help. I find the mirage easier to pick up and read with the Majesta compared with other scopes I have tried.

Q7. Would you recommend the Majesta to other F-Class competitors, and if so, why?

I feel the Majesta has helped me become the shooter I am. With that being said, every shooter’s eyes are different, and I would recommend looking through as many scopes as you can before buying one to see which scope best suits your eyes and your style of shooting.
