Shooting 3km(1.86mile) with March Genesis 4-40x52mm Scope in the outback of Australia

Posted 10/23/2020

Stuart Elliott (March Scopes Australia) and Phil Jones (March Scopes’ dealer: Redback Precision Gunsmithing)

together shot at 3km with March 4-40x52mm Genesis Scope in the outback of Australia.

4-40x52mmFFP Genesis has 86MIL elevation travel amount without utilizing any external accessories.

This is the sister model of 6-60×56mm Genesis with elevation travel amount of 114MIL, 400MOA.

The unique design of Genesis scopes (the scope itself inclines) allow the shooter to always see through the central part of the lens

producing clarity, definition, and minimal chromatic aberration when extreme elevation is used even on 400 moa.

Both scopes can be used from  20 meters up to 3 miles (4827m).

Stuart and Phil are on a project together to use Benchrest reloading techniques and to use the two Genesis models to their capability.

For ELR normally shooters use Tactical types of rifles so this would be an interesting project to see the outcome.

First they shot at 100 yards.

375 Caliber 379 Grain bullet

This is as good as you get with a phone camera. You can see better through your eyes.

Now moving on to 3km.

Look how small the target is which was set at 3km ahead!

-Bartlein barrel
-375caliber 379gr Berger (They will try 407gr Berger next time.)
-165gr of AR2218 (50BMG powder) .This was a low load.
-Based on a shortened 50 BMG case
It’s called a ‘Wildcat’ cartridge their own design.
A shortened up version of the 50 BMG case. Shortened and blown out like a grown up 300 WSM.

Great job, Stuart and Phil ! Looking forward to hearing more on your ongoing project;)
